Sabres Team Report

Ryan Miller was stunned when the fans in Pittsburgh applauded him following the Olympics. He will not be shocked if a similar reaction occurs Saturday in Detroit.
The Sabres and their Team USA goaltender head to Miller's backyard for a game against the Red Wings. The East Lansing, Mich., native and former Michigan State star will play in front of plenty of friends and family.
Some in the audience, including his parents and grandparents, went to Vancouver. For the rest of his circle, it's the first chance to see the silver-medal winner.
"My grandparents will be there, they were up in Vancouver, but mainly it will be people I haven't seen at all," Miller said. "It'll be good to see them after the game.

Josh Harding didn't have to wait long for a second chance. A day after giving up five goals in a loss at Detroit, Harding made 43 saves to give the Minnesota Wild a rare road victory, 3-2 over the Buffalo Sabres on Friday. Playing for the second straight night for the injured Niklas Backstrom, Harding fell one stop short of his career-best 44 saves set in February 2009 at Chicago.
