Danny Granger is appealing the one-game suspension the NBA gave him earlier this week for his part in an altercation in Phoenix on March 6.
"I didn't throw a punch at anybody, I pushed," Granger said before Friday's game against the Boston Celtics. "We've already started the appeal process."
The suspension cost Granger about $110,338 of his $9.9 million salary this season.
The incident started with 46.7 seconds left in the third quarter when Pacers guard Earl Watson and Phoenix forward Channing Frye became entangled. Watson pushed Frye's hands down twice, then Frye retaliated by pushing Watson in the back of the head. Phoenix forward Channing Frye and Indiana's Danny Granger have been suspended one game without pay by the NBA for their part in an altercation Saturday. The league punished Frye on Tuesday for throwing a punch. Granger was penalized for fighting with Frye in the final minute of the third quarter in the Suns' 113-105 victory.

Pacers suspend F Solomon Jones for 1 game

The Indiana Pacers have suspended forward Solomon Jones for one game because of conduct detrimental to the team. The Pacers provided no additional details Monday explaining why Jones was suspended. Spokeswoman Krissy Myers said the Pacers would have no comment beyond a two-sentence news release issued by the team Jones will miss Tuesday night's game in Los Angeles against the Lakers.
Pacers waive injured PG Diener

The Indiana Pacers have waived point guard Travis Diener, who played in only four games with Indiana this season because of a foot injury. The 6-foot-1 guard had surgery after injuring the big toe of his left foot in late September. Diener had averaged 5.4 points and 3.0 assists in playing 121 games since Indiana signed the former Marquette star as a free agent in 2007.
