Shaquille O'Neal missed the Phoenix Suns' game Wednesday night against the Indiana Pacers because of a back injury. Pacers Team Report
(Wed, 07 Jan 2009 02:10:05 PST)
Indiana has dropped three straight games to the Suns.
A concern?
Not really, according to the players.
The Pacers feel optimistic about beating the no-longer-run-and-gun Suns because they've lost the last three games by a total of 14 points.
"We were right there with Phoenix," forward Danny Granger said. "Amare (Stoudemire) went for something like 50 points. Other than that we were in the game."
Stoudemire finished with 49.
Jeff Foster, Troy Murphy and Roy Hibbert, who all played a part in Stoudemire's big game, have to do a better job defending Stoudemire to avoid a repeat performance.
The Pacers are coming off a game in which Denver scored 135 points against them Monday.

Mike Dunleavy isn't used to being a spectator, and it looks like he won't be one for much longer. The Indiana Pacers guard is expected back within a week or so after missing all 33 games so far this season with soreness in his right knee. "Obviously, it's been a long few months," Dunleavy told The Associated Press.

NBA's Eastern Conference teams outplaying the West
(Thu, 25 Dec 2008 21:57:52 PST)
The Western Conference has ruled the NBA the past decade. Not anymore. West teams won seven of the past 10 championships and had a winning record against the East every season since 1998-99. Through Thursday's games, the East was 87-65 against the West this season. "I think the balance is shifting," Indiana Pacers forward Danny Granger said.
