Nets Team Report
(Wed, 07 Jan 2009 02:10:05 PST)
It was suggested that the Nets had entered a portion of their schedule where, on paper, they could make some noise. There was a stretch, starting Monday, of four straight games against teams with losing records.
The Nets, of course, have a losing record. So coach Lawrence Frank put a quick stop to the bonanza talk.
"Every game you have to have urgency. The biggest mistake a player or coach can make is looking at the record," Frank said. "You've got to earn it. If you don't bring it, you're going to get beat."
Even with a win in Game 1 of the stretch, the Nets hope to treat the Grizzlies Wednesday in New Jersey as a hybrid of the Bulls, Celtics and Lakers dynasties. The Grizzlies were just 2-13 on the road as of Monday.
