The Hornets will try to end their four-game West Coast road trip with a winning record when they play at Utah on Wednesday.
They improved to 2-1 on the trip when they beat the Lakers, 116-105, Tuesday night at the Staples Center. That victory came after the Lakers had won by double digits in two games at the New Orleans Arena earlier in the season.
"This was a must-win for us," forward David West said. "They had beaten us twice on our home floor, and it was all about us coming in here with a supreme effort." The road trip is split into two sets of back-to-backs and all the games are against teams with winning records. The victory against the Lakers came three days after a 105-101 loss at Denver, and the trip began with a 92-77 victory at Portland. ...

Hornets center Tyson Chandler was suspended without pay for New Orleans' game at Denver on Saturday for striking an opponent the previous night. Chandler was ejected during the third quarter of the Hornets' 92-77 win at Portland on Friday for elbowing Trail Blazers center Joel Przybilla in the neck. Przybilla was also fined $7,500 for his role in the incident, the NBA said Saturday.
