Heat Team Report
(Wed, 07 Jan 2009 02:10:05 PST)
Forward James Jones, who has not played all season after having surgery to repair a tendon in his right (shooting) wrist, could be ready to play before the Heat's seven-game road trip ends Jan. 18.
"I'm less than two weeks away," Jones said before Monday's game against San Antonio. "Hopefully it's more like one week."
Jones, who was third in the league last season in 3-point percentage at .444, said the wrist is healed and everything now depends on how fast his wrist recovers from hard work. Jones said Monday was his first day of full-contact practice.
"Now I have to stretch it a little bit and beat it up and see if it can recover," he said.
Jones' addition could be huge alongside a group of long-range shooters that includes guards Chris Quinn (.431, 14th...

Miami's young players getting it done for Heat
(Wed, 31 Dec 2008 13:13:40 PST)

(Fri, 26 Dec 2008 18:24:52 PST)

And so goes a new chapter of a Heat-Bulls rivalry that just won't go away. Spoelstra called a timeout with 30.9 seconds remaining in Miami's 90-77 win over Chicago on Friday, doing so to get Dwyane Wade,...

1 vs. 2 in Miami: Rose's Bulls at Beasley's Heat
(Thu, 25 Dec 2008 09:53:02 PST)
Michael Beasley likes Derrick Rose, enjoys watching him play, even has been following his fellow rookie's stats over the course of their first NBA season. So when they meet as full-fledged pros for the first time Friday, don't expect some acrimonious mano-a-mano matchup. "No, we're cool," Beasley said.
